APPOINTMENTS
We are now offering 15 min appointments with the doctors to provide a better service to our patients. Bookings are preferred. Walk-in patients will be accepted, however, they may incur a longer wait time. You can also contact the locum service (13 SICK) after hours if you have urgent medical needs.
CANCELLATIONS
If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, it is important that you notify us as soon as possible by phoning reception on 95473511 or 95624662. This can help us to offer the appointment to other patients on our waiting list.
NEW PATIENTS
Please arrive 10 mins early or download and complete the new patient form and email to us at ssmc.vic@gmail.com before your appointment.
REFERRALS
Please ensure you have an up to date referral prior to your specialist appointment because referrals cannot be backdated. Failure to have a valid referral will result in you losing the Medicare rebate entitlement for the specialist appointment.
FEES
In order to keep up with rising costs and to continue providing you with our services, we are now required to move to a mixed-billing model. This means that a small $20 ($30 on weekends) out of pocket fee will apply for GP consultations. Gap fee for procedures will vary depending on the procedure, please check with reception prior to booking. You will need to pay the full consultation fee and claim your rebate from Medicare. All invoices will need to be settled on the day.
We will continue to bulk bill all children under the age of 16, Pension Card Holders and Health
Care Card Holders who hold a valid Medicare card. GP Management Plans, Team Care Arrangements and immunisations will be bulk billed.
PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE FEES
Direct claiming for BUPA private health insurance and CBHS International Health is available for GP Appointments at Springvale South Medical Centre. We offer in-centre claiming if you have the following:
- BUPA OSHC (overseas student health cover)
- overseas visitors with BUPA private health insurance.
- CBHS International Health
This means we can help you claim for your consult rebate on the same day. Please note if there are any issues with processing your private health insurance billing on the day of the appointment, you will be required to pay for the full consultation fee ($80 for a standard consultation) and then claim your rebate back from your insurance company.
Patients must have their membership card at time of appointment in order to claim.
